The Bethany Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 161 is committed to providing the City of Bethany and its citizens with the best law enforcement services possible. The FOP and its members strive to provide professional standards and safe working conditions to its members through negotiations with the City of Bethany . The lodge also provides assistance to members and others in the community in need of help through different programs.
The lodge provides yearly funding to the YWCA-Domestic Abuse, Strong Kids Foundation, Children's Center, and also helps families in celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas by providing food and gifts. There is also an annual Easter Egg hunt for the children of the lodge members. All of these things are accomplished through donations to the lodge and fundraising events throughout the year.
The lodge annually assists the Police Department by sending officers to the Police Officer Memorial in Washington D.C. to honor fallen officers. Other programs such as the K9 program were started due to some assistance from the lodge. A monument has been purchased by the lodge and donated to the City of Bethany to be erected in front of the police department. All of these were accomplished through money generated from donations and fundraisers.
The Bethany Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 161 looks forward to making a positive difference in the community through professional and courteous service to the City of Bethany and its citizens. It is the goal of the FOP and its members to make the Bethany Police Department the best it can be and to continue to make Bethany a great place to live
